How is zakat calculated?

  1. Only wealth you have held for a full Hijri year counts.
  2. Your home, car and personal belongings are not zakatable.
  3. Bank interest is not part of zakat: give it away in full to charity.
  4. Debts due now are subtracted. If the rest reaches the nisab, zakat is 2.5% (2.579% for a Gregorian year).

Zakat on crops and produce

This is separate from the zakat above — it is due at harvest, not after a year of holding, and the rate depends on how the land was watered.

$

Nisab: $365.68 (≈ 653 kg of wheat)

How was it watered?
Below the nisab — no zakat on this harvest. $0.00

Zakat on livestock

Grazing camels, cattle, sheep and goats are zakatable in animals, not cash — enter the type and count.

Type of animal
Below the minimum count — no zakat is due on this herd.

Figures match Dar al-Fatwa's published zakat tables for camels, cattle, sheep and goats.
